From Shelter to Spotlight

The Sunglasses Were Never Just Fashion.

Bagel was born with eyelid agenesis, a rare congenital condition that left her unable to blink or naturally protect her eyes. After being adopted from a Los Angeles County shelter, she received specially secured protective glasses designed to shield her corneas.

Karen McGill and her friends began decorating those glasses with crystals, hearts, pumpkins, snowflakes, and seasonal designs. A medical necessity became an unmistakable identity—and the rescue cat behind the glasses became SunglassCat.
